I am what some would call a conspiracy theorist.
BUT I hate calling myself that because it carries a negative connotation. As soon as you hear “conspiracy theorist” you think of some loser in his mother’s basement, with a tin foil hat on, furiously typing away so he can let the world know that the moon landing was “bullshit man!”
I do live at home with my parents, but we don’t even have a basement. I don’t wear tin foil hats. I do think that the US faked the moon landing; however…but I’m not 100% sure.
Well…maybe I’m not the best example.
The thing is I’m a fairly intelligent person. I made it most of the way through college with an A/B average before dropping out to pursue my interests in stand-up comedy and online marketing. I live at home to minimize expenses, so I can put the maximum amount of energy into the things that I’m passionate about. I build websites, solve Rubik’s cubes, write articles for my website (and a couple of others) make YouTube videos where I write, voice over and edit everything myself…Let’s just say, I’m not an idiot.
I actually find that most of the people I encounter who would be labeled “conspiracy theorists” are really intelligent, logical human beings. These aren’t people who make snap judgments or people who just accept things that they are told without question. These are people who are just genuinely interested in life and finding out the truth when it comes to anything and everything.
The problem is though that these people usually have a brain that won’t shut off. I know mine doesn’t. If you look into the issues that conspiracy theorists are talking about, then I think you would also have a few questions. The problem is these are questions that never get answered. So, some people let their minds get carried away with things in their pursuit to find the truth. They are connecting the dots, and a picture of what is really going in the world starts to form in their head…until they connect two dots that aren’t really connected and lose the picture altogether…
The thing is some dots are legitimately connected. If there are that many people who see the same inconsistencies and arrive at the same conclusion then that would be pretty illogical if there were absolutely no validity behind it. Still, some people will just follow what they are told blindly, conspiracy theorists or not. But, for the most part, to be a conspiracy theorist you have to investigate things for yourself outside of the mainstream news.
Another huge issue I have with people who aren’t conspiracy theorists is that they are many times people who have never looked into any of these subjects at all. I have searched hard for information to prove or disprove conspiracy theories. I have consumed all the information I can get on a lot of these subjects so I am forming an opinion based on the massive amounts of research that I’ve done. Most people who oppose conspiracy theorists are people who haven’t even glanced over the information.
The reason why I’m writing this article is because I think the downfall of America, and eventually the world, will be people just going on about their day while ignoring some glaringly obvious problems with the way things are being run and the motives of the people who run them. I don’t want to get into specifics because I think that will discourage you from trying to learn more on your own. You may fit into the mold of someone who opposes conspiracy theories but hasn’t actually looked at the information yourself and developed a well thought out opinion of your own on the subject. So if that is you…GO FIND OUT FOR YOURSELF!!!
